J. Ariadhitya Pramuhendra
Widely recognised for his exquisite charcoal drawings on canvas and paper, Pramuhendra's practice also spans digital photography, animation, video art and installation. His works reflect his personal anxieties regarding identity and the web of problems concerning the self. Religion, displacement and family are core themes, represented through objects and icons imbued with sensuous meaning. Pramuhendra's mastery of lines and smudges combine to form still moments that appear like photographs, filled with memory and melancholy. "As an artist, I always ask, "who am I?" in the context of myself, religion, society and even in the art world constellation. The question and discussion therein, become the base of my works." - Pramuhendra
